Throughout the world, for thousands of years, tactile therapy (healing through touch) has been recognized as a powerful, yet gentle and nurturing form of treatment which can restore vibrant health. Stress, in fact most illnesses, affect us on every level. The benefits of tactile therapy aren't just restricted to your physical body! Your mind, emotions and spirit will benefit also.
ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE NURTURED!
Imagine yourself bathed in soft, gentle sound. The aroma of exotic oils wafts through the room. You feel warm and safe. Your body is already starting to relax. Take some long deep breaths. Allow your mind and body to let go some more - your treatment is about to begin.
THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
You will find a wide range of tactile therapies offered for you to choose from. You can choose for yourself or allow John to determine the most appropriate form of treatment for you.
The initial consultation will usually begin with an assessment involving a few general health questions, then a decision will be taken on the most appropriate treatment.
For a full body massage most people undress completely, though you may choose to wear underwear. Your body will be warmly draped by toweling or a sheet, so remove as much clothing as you comfortably can. The main aim is for you to feel comfortable in a room which will be warm and quiet with soft music to set a relaxing mood.
Once you feel settled in place close your eyes, then focus your attention on your breathing. This should bring you more in touch with your entire body. Let your breath get as long and as smooth as it wants to be without forcing it.
The important thing is to relax and make the most of this wonderful opportunity to get rid of your stress. Don’t try to help in any way. Let your practitioner do all the work.
The less said during the treatment the better - tune in to your body, notice how it feels. Let your mind rest, no need to worry about a thing. If you feel cold, uncomfortable or if the area being worked on is sore or painful, by all means speak up. It is important that you enjoy this experience.
Finally, when your treatment is over, take a few minutes to lay still with your eyes closed and let yourself absorb whatever you are feeling.
